Vilakati, Ncube on a Courtesy Visit to Sisulu in South Africa on the Forthcoming ATB Unveilling in Eswatini
In their quest to ensuring a greater attendance of prominent African personalities during the unveiling of the African Tourism Board’s Secretariat and the staging of Marula Festival slated between 25th-27th March, 2022 in the Kingdom of Eswatini, Hon. Moses Vilakati, the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Kingdom of Eswatini and Hon. Cuthbert Ncube, the Executive Chairman, African Tourism Board have paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Lindiwe Sisulu, the Minister of Tourism, Republic of South Africa during the working visit of Hon. Vilakati to the Rainbow nation.
The duo were warmly received by Hon. Sisulu at her office in Pretoria where they all had a great multi- lateral tete-a-tete geared towards the progress of the South African sub-region and Africa as a whole.
The two Tourism Ministers gave their unflinching readiness to rally behind African Tourism Board during the unveiling of its Secretariat on the 25th of March, 2022 in the Kingdom of Eswatini where it is expected that historical antecedent is in the making by the commissioning of an African Tourism Board’s Secretariat being spearheaded by an African government in the roaring mountains Kingdom of Eswatini.
The discussions also bothered on bilateral agreements and cooperation that have been at the centre stage between the two Southern African Champions who have committed to working together in the rebranding and marketing, not only the regional block but the continent at large in the area of tourism development .
“If there was a time for our policy custodians to join hands as a united front carrying the mandate that was initiated by our founding fathers at the helm in the African Union, it is now that so much dedication from both the private and public sector on the future of tourism in Africa looks bright”.
“ATB will always play a pivotal role in building the bridges amongst Member States as we take pride of our diversity, our Cultures, our ancient traditions, our incomparable good climate, our unparalleled diversity of fauna and flora and the most freindly people whose hospitality multiplies the retention of tourist’s traffic to the continent “, Ncube shared.
The event will also bring national, regional, continental and global tourism players to the mountain Kingdom and expectedly to be well received by regional Ministers, the great people of the Kingdom and ATB Ambassadors.
Various activities have been lined up for the three day event which include tourism exhibition, cultural displays, musical performances, tours among others targeted at rebranding and marketing destinations of our lovely continent.
You will recall that Hon. Cuthbert Ncube recently met Hon. Najib Balala, the Cabinet Secretary of Tourism, Kenya also in South Africa during the latter’s working visit where they deliberated on some continental issues as well as ATB Unveilling.
