Sharon Ringo, the Tourism Wizkid Receives Tanzania’s First Schorlaship from the Founder of African Children Talent Discovery Foundation, Dr. Noah Dallaji in Zanzibar
It was an exhilirating moment and a perspicacious time when the Founder and President of African Children Talent Discovery Foundation (ACTDF) Engr. Dr. Noah Dallaji handed out one out of the twenty schorlaships meant to be awarded to the indigent children in Tanzania to the tourism wizkid, Sharon Mowo Ringo as a sideline at the recently concluded Pan-African Women Empowerment Summit 2022, held at the coveted Medinat Bah Hotel, Zanzibar.
Reacting, the Founder and President of ACTDF, Dr. Noah Dallaji expressed his satisfaction at the decision to award some children and youths in Tanzania schorlaships to study in various universities all over the world and Sharon being the most celebrated tourism girl in East African Community makes it a priority for the organization in collaboration with African Tourism Board to offer her the first of the schorlaships which also in consonannce with the fact that the awarding took place in at the enchanting city of Zanzibar and on the day dedicated to women all over the world, making it so very significant and strategic
He also believes that a child like Sharon Ringo who comes from a humble background with a supportive parents that are striving to make her become a woman of substance when she grows up deserves to be sponsored by his organisation.
According to the foundation, part of the criteria to receive the award is that the recipients must be indigent children whose parents can not afford to send them for higher education and they must be known to be very brilliant and willing to further their studies. These children must also exhibit best behaviors in their various schools of which their teaches mus attest to.
Dr. Dallaji believes that the schorlaships must be well administered to avoid wrong people accessing it by ensuring their strictness for the less privileged children who need it most rather than getting to those that will usurp the opportunity.
Also reacting, Hon. Cuthbert Ncube, the Executive Chairman African Tourism Board expressed his appreciation by applauding ACTDF for the initiative that aims at reshaping and positioning African young generation in the progressive path in life .
He also believes that the initiative is going to be rolled out to all other Member States in line with and in accordance with AU 2063 agenda in the area of education, especially emanating from the private sector which makes it more appreciable .
This joint initiative between ACTDF and ATB aims at piloting the young Africans’ centered initiative where education and empowerment would be the major driver of progress.
Sharon Mowo Ringo, an eleven year old in grade 8 primary education has been appointed as the Young Brand Ambassador of Tourism for the youths in Tanzania and East Africa Community.
She has been instrumental in rebranding and marketing both Zanzibar and the entire country as one of the tourists’ best destinations in East Africa.
Her desire to further her studies has been made possible by the benevolence of Dr. Dallaji through ACTDF by receiving full scholarship to study at the prestigious Havard University in the United States of America and it is expected that many Tanzanian children and youths will join her as in this as they watch their dream come to reality with the support of Dr. Noah Dallaji.
