Obi Asika, the Creative Guru Becomes New DG of National Council for Arts and Culture in Nigeria

Obi Asika, the creative expert of many parts has become the new Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture of Nigeria.
The appointment was made by His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of Nigeria and made available to the media by the Presidential media Adviser, Ajuri, Ngelale yesterday.
He was appointed alongside other eleven executives in the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy as the country gears towards leveraging on other sectors such as creativity, arts, tourism, culture and the related for job creation, empowerment and economic growth.
Asika, 55, has been one of the most consistent advocates for the inclusion of everything creativity for national development in Nigeria and Africa.

Before his appointment, he is known for his involvement in the growth of Nigeria’s music industry, as the founder and CEO of Storm 360 – an indigenous music label, Storm 360 has spawned a lot of Nigerian entertainers including Naeto C, lkechukwu, Sacha P, General Pype, L.O.S., Ms Jaie, Tosin Martins, Yung 6ix among others.
He is a founding partner of Dragon Africa – a strategic communications firm based in London, Lagos and Accra.
Asika is the Chairman of OutSource Media, a leading communications and content production company and a prominent figure in laying the infrastructure for the growth and development of the media & entertainment industry in Nigeria and beyond.
He has been featured in many top-notch local and international creative events as a speaker, panelist and keynote speaker as well as a judge on various creative projects.
He is surely “a round peg in a round hole” , and the Ministry will definitely tap from his wealth of unfathomable experiences across a broad spectrum of creative world, which will positively impact the country and Africa at large.
