Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu will fly to Senegal for Bassirou Faye’s Inaguration

His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President, Federal Republic of Nigeria will fly to Dakar, Senegal from Nigeria’s capital, Abuja tomorrow, April 2, 2024, to attend the inauguration of Bassirou Diomaye Faye, President-Elect of the Republic of Senegal.
This was made known in a press release made available to the media by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to Nigeria’s President on Media and Publicity in Abuja, Nigeria, today.
According to the release, Ngelale noted that the trip was at the instance of the Republic of Senegal, inviting Tinubu on his capacity as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and President of Nigeria who is expected to join other leaders in Dakar for the inauguration.
“The President’s trip is on the invitation of the Republic of Senegal.
President Tinubu, who is the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government will join other regional leaders to witness the inauguration at Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.
The President will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and other senior government officials.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the inauguration”, it stated.
You will recall that President-Elect Faye, 44 pulled 53.3% of the votes at the general election, defeating Amadou Ba, the candidate of the incumbent President, Macky Sall in a victory that has been described as unprecedented in the history of the French colony.
Post inauguration would give a clearer understanding of what plans Faye and his mentor, Sonko have in stock for the people of Senegal, moving forward, but from tomorrow it is a celebrating, as a new dawn will be ushered in democratically with a new Sherrif in town who has promised to restore the sovereignty of Senegal.
