Dine Bouraima, CTM-Benin President Joins Nigerian Tourism Dignitaries and Diplomats at the Presidential Villa, Abuja for Ipada Briefing

In a historic gathering held yesterday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa of Nigeria in Abuja, renowned tourism leader, Hon. Dine Bouraima, President of Consortium Touristes Par Million Au Benin (CTM-Benin) and Vice President of the African Tourism Board joined top Nigerian tourism dignitaries and diplomats for an important Ipada briefing at the invitation of Dr. Wanle Akinboboye, the organiser.

This high-level meeting underscored the growing importance of tourism in West Africa and the collaborative efforts being made to strengthen tourism ties between Nigeria and Benin.

The event, which brought together key players in the tourism, culture, and diplomatic sectors, aimed to promote the upcoming Ipada International Festival, a cultural event that celebrates the heritage of the African people and aims to drive regional and international tourism.

The festival, with its focus on fostering intercontinental collaborations has gained significant attention due to its potential for economic development, cultural exchange, and job creation within the regions.

Hon. Bouraima’s participation reflects the increasing synergy between Benin and Nigeria in the tourism sector, as well as the critical role of diplomacy in strengthening these ties.

In his remarks, Bouraima emphasized the importance of cross-cultural exchanges and the need for collaboration in promoting the rich cultural heritages of Nigeria and Benin as welll as Africa and the world, also highlighted the African Tourism Board’s commitment to supporting such initiatives that drive sustainable tourism development across the continent.

The Ipada briefing was graced by other prominent Nigerian tourism dignitaries, government officials such as Hon. Lola Ade John, Minister of Tourism ; Mr. Nkereuwem Onung, President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria and host of other foreign dignitaries who discussed strategies for enhancing regional tourism and the positioning of Nigeria as a prime destination for cultural and heritage tourism.


The presence of diplomatic representatives also underscored the importance of international cooperation in promoting African tourism on a global stage.


The event is the brainchild of Dr. Wanle Akinbobye, a doyen of tourism and culture in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. He has played a pivotal role at bridging the gap between the Nigeria and Benin, working towards fostering greater collaboration that would bring about lasting collaboration between the two countries.

You will recall that Benin recently hosted the much anticipated Nigeria – Benin Tourism Forum at Benin Royal Hotel, Cotonou, supported by Hon. Dine Bouraima and his organization, CTM-Benin, organized by Kalo Africa Media-Nigeria and Exparts Partner-Benin, an event that has been receiving greater accolades from both countries.

The event concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to make the Ipada International Festival a landmark event that will boost cultural tourism and foster stronger relationships between Nigeria and the world.
