Botswana to Construct $2.5 Billion Coal-to-Liquids Plant
Botswana has always been in the news in the recent time for everything positive, from tourism, investment, economy and the general well being of the populace.
This time, Botswana plans to construct a $2.5 billion plant to convert coal into liquid fuels in order to reduce the country’s dependence on imported fuel.
This novel initiative would be operating under a public-private partnership model.
The coal-to-liquids plant is expected to produce an estimated 12,000 barrels of diesel and gasoline per day during its planned 30-year lifespan.
Botswana has been airmarked by bookmakers as one of the positive changing narratives emanating from the continent.
