AYTFE2024: Knowing Destination Lagos as it Hosts the African Youth Tourism Festival 2024

All preparations are being perfected as youth delegations from all over Africa converge on one of the iconic African destinations-Lagos, the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria for the African Youth Tourism Festival 2024.
This initiative became imperative based on the fact that tourism is fast becoming an integral part of the African countries’ economies, social lives and geographical component of many cities, thus contributing greatly to the continental GDP.
“This initiative stemmed from our concern for the African youths, especially about their future, and we thought of another way to engage them, then we saw the huge potential within tourism that must be leveraged on in order to bring to the fore their manifest and latent talents through tourism and the related creativities“, said Ayo Omotosho, the initiator.

Knowing Destination Lagos:
Lagos is a city of “Aquatic Splendor, a city that never sleeps. Destination Lagos is a melting pot in Nigeria with so many tourism activities and entertainment. For those that know, it is one of the most vibrant African cities with a huge population of 25 million people of which 60% are energetic, brilliant and highly friendly youths.
Destination Lagos commands a great respect among comity of African cities because it has been marked as a potential future engine room of the continent.
The tourism sector of the city is booming and the city government has invested a lot in the development of many touristic sites within in order to boost the sector as it is projected that more tourists arrivals to Lagos is imminent.
It is against this background that the city of Eko the original name of Lagos has been selected as the host city for this epoch-making 2024 African Youth Tourism Festival slated for 16th to 20th of April at the touristic and historical Tafawa Balewa Square, Marina, Lagos, Nigeria.
