ATB Vice President- Dine Bouraima Joins Others to Crown New Miss Tourism Africa and Mister Tourism Africa at Grand Finale in Lagos

The prestigious Miss Tourism Africa pageant came to an exciting conclusion last Tuesday at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, with the crowning of Miss Tourism Namibia and Mr. Tourism Nigeria as the top winners of the competition. The event attracted tourism professionals, enthusiasts, and stakeholders from across the continent to witness an unforgettable celebration of African beauty, culture, and tourism.

Miss Tourism Namibia, Ndinelago Kalikoka Emosho stood out among the 19 contestants vying for the title, impressing the judges with her grace, intellect, and passion for promoting African tourism. She was crowned the new Miss Tourism Africa, earning a cash prize of $2,000 and a unique opportunity to represent Africa on the global stage.

In addition to the title, Miss Tourism Namibia will travel to France to represent Africa at an international tourism event, further enhancing her role as a global ambassador for African tourism.

Mr. Tourism Nigeria – Fabian Arinze Ugboma also won the Mister Tourism Africa category during the competition, surpassing nine other finalists to clinch the top male honor. He was awarded $1,000 in recognition of his impressive performance and commitment to promoting tourism in Nigeria and across Africa.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presence of ATB team led by Hon. Dine Bouraima, Vice President of the African Tourism Board (ATB), accompanied by Amb. Kazeem Balogun, Director of Media and Communications and Amb. Peqce Onuiri, Commissioner for Health and Safety .

Hon. Bouraima joined a distinguished panel of judges and dignitaries for the crowning ceremony. and had earlier expressed his pride in seeing the event showcase Africa’s rich and diverse tourism potential, commended the winners for their dedication to promoting the continent.

Miss Tourism Africa’s new title comes with more than just the crown; she has now become a global ambassador for the African Tourism Board, helping to promote the continent’s rich culture and travel destinations. Her role will involve collaboration with the ATB and tourism stakeholders to advance Africa’s tourism sector and present the continent’s unique offerings to international audiences.

The event marked a significant milestone in promoting Africa’s tourism industry, providing a platform for young ambassadors to take an active role in showcasing the continent’s beauty and potential. As African tourism continues to grow, such initiatives are critical in reinforcing the narrative of Africa as a top travel destination for both leisure and investment opportunities.
