Amb. Kazeem Balogun, Supports “Destination Nigeria Governors’ Tourism Conference” Unveilling

In a significant stride towards promoting Nigeria’s tourism potential, the CEO of Kalo Africa Media, Ambassador Kazeem Balogun, played a pivotal role in the unveiling of the Destination Nigeria Governors’ Tourism Conference, expressing his unwavering support for the initiative at the event that took place at the Abuja Continental Hotel during the recent edition of the Tourism Parliament in Abuja, Nigeria, drawing together a distinguished assembly of tourism stakeholders.

The unveilling organised by Amb. Ayo Omotoso, CEO Travelogue Communications aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s image as a premier tourist destination, was attended by several high-profile dignitaries. Among them was His Excellency, Mahamadou Musa Njie, the High Commissioner Extraordinary of the Gambia to Nigeria and ECOWAS, whose presence underscored the regional significance of the event. Also in attendance was Madam Sally Mbanefo, the former Director General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (now the Nigeria Tourism Development Authority), whose contributions to the tourism sector are widely recognized.

Further lending their support were representatives from key tourism institutions, including Hon. Lola Ade John, Nigeria’s Minister of Tourism, represented by the Special Adviser on Medical Tourism, Kelvin Ikegwuonu who emphasized the vast potential of tourism as a key driver of job creation and economic diversification in Nigeria. Others were Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa, Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) also represented by Dr. Eddy Enenta who presented the organisation’s commitment to supporting tourism and hospitality sectors of Nigeria, as well as Chief Abiodun Odusanwo, President of the Institute of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ITPN) who not only graced the occasion but served as the Tourism Parliament Speaker alongside a host of other notable figures within the tourism industry of Nigeria.

Ambassador Balogun, in his address, expressed his organization’s unwavering commitment to the initiative, emphasizing the critical role that the Destination Nigeria Governors’ Tourism Conference will play in boosting Nigeria’s tourism sector. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between government and private entities in developing sustainable tourism frameworks that can drive economic growth and create jobs.

As a Board Member and Director of Media and Communications for the African Tourism Board, Balogun also conveyed the organization’s support for the initiative, reinforcing the shared vision of advancing tourism across the continent. He lauded the efforts of the various stakeholders and encouraged continued collaboration to realize the full potential of Nigeria’s tourism industry.
